The turbine records come from open data published by RES/TRIG and Cubico. GPS and compass modes use actual device sensors when your browser allows them. The visual matching is calculated from position and bearing, not AI image recognition.
No physical iPhone field test has been completed. The default viewpoint is simulated. We have not independently reverified each turbine's present operational status, and the pilot is not UK-wide. The camera overlay is an angular guide, not a precise image-registered AR experience.
Original source data: CC BY 4.0. WindSpot changes: standardised column names, converted kW to MW, formatted individual unit references, added source and owner-evidence fields, and limited records to the four pilot sites. Project ownership is shown only where the publisher explicitly identifies an owner.
Device location, compass readings and camera images stay in your browser. This prototype does not send them to a WindSpot server or store them. Maps, when enabled, request tiles from external providers and may reveal the map area to those services.
